This is a great review game to use for students of any age for any type of Math class! Their is so much you can add to this activity I really like it! My group didn't need the structure and were okay with three-to-five-way swaps of cards.

Some of the questions were tough, but they really worked well together! Nice post and keep up the good work! Once they complete the problem, they find the word next to the correct answer and put it in their mad lib story. Students are paired or in a trio and move from problem to problem solving it, identifying the solution in the room, charge and then working that problem.

Student would switch problems with their partner, work the new problem, check, and get their original question back. They each work on individual whiteboards, but talk together while working. Am I correct in this interpretation of the game. They know whether they have the answer right or wrong because they have a partner who can confirm the answer and the also have a student telling the whole class what the answer should be.

Speed Dating is a review game in which students are paired and face each other. He told his students that I would be included in the speed dating round and who is able to explain the game. Since the goal of speed dating is to be quick and fun, it can be tricky to have a time limit. Time goes off, one row of students switch. Students are finished when they return to their original problem. Post was not sent - check your email addresses! One question that I would have for this is if having questions previously made would be good or if students could come up with their own to have others answer. Most students enjoy getting out of their seats and doing their work in another part of the class, whether that be with a group or individually.

This game also allows immediate feedback on the students work. Also, there is for sure noise and conversation taking place, so you have to be okay with those two factors. Since each partner is an expert at their own problem, students should be able to help each other if needed. To prepare, you will need cards or slips of paper with problems on one side and the answers on the other. Wait, laws on minors dating adults maybe that was in my dreams.

Occasionally I will have an odd number, then I just put three people at one table. This year I knew I had to change that. It looks a lot like The Family Feud. Students become experts at a specific problem and then switch partners and get a new problem to solve.

These types of games can be fun for all subjects and we use them for a fun way to review before an assessment. After this, moving to literal equations was a breeze! In seconds, the entire class had the correct answer!

Then, I have them put their bookbags against the walls so everyone can move around the room more easily. Students really get into trying to figure out the correct order of all the cards. Next year I will give them more time with this. The routine of this activity has to be explicitly taught and practiced to keep things silent and moving.
